I am a BA Hons 3D Design: Product Design graduate from Plymouth University where I focused on products and services for a circular economy.
The Agency of Design
In 2015 I joined the Agency of Design, a studio in London who 'help organisations design a better future by rethinking their physical and digital worlds'. They work in an array of sectors combing design, engineering, and business innovation to bring engaging products and experiences to market.
I grew up in the New Forest, where I achieved A Levels in design, art and maths. Alongside my studies, I ran my own gardening service across my town, providing garden upkeep and maintenance to a regular customer base. I was fully insured, provided all my own tools, with a large trailer to get between jobs. I ran my gardening service for over 5 years from age 14 until I left for University.
I love designing and making. I am hands on and 'learn by doing', but I also have a fascination with the larger system and impact of products. I have a key interest in the circular economy, material scarcity and innovative business - something which greatly influences my work.
I was featured in Elle Decoration Magazine in September 2013, winning the 'closed loop garden design' category for the B&Q British Talent Search 2013. I designed a compact garden shredder specifically formatted to work best when leased, not sold.
In 2011, I won a place onto B&Q's Youth Board - a national competition to bring together a group of young people to give insights on real business challenges. Since the youth board, I have also interned with Kingfisher, B&Q's parent company to work on solutions to design out plastic waste in areas of their supply chain - where innovations are being discussed and developed.
